And the winner is…

avengers-assembleThe votes have been counted and verified, and we can now announce the first ever Failed Critics Awards winners!

On a chilly night at the end of December, the team from the Failed Critics Podcast recorded a virtual ceremony, complete with tuxedos, alcohol, and debauched behaviour. In other words, James treated it like every other podcast recording.

So for anyone who was too hungover to turn on their computer, still too drunk to operate it, or simply too sensible to listen to our inane ramblings; here are the results.

  1. As much as I like the Raid – and I do It was 9th in my top 20 – I feel that maybe it had the major advantage of being the higher profile foreign film this year. It would also appeal to a wider audience than say Rust & Bones or Amour, so inevitable The Raid would be number one. Look on Letterboxd’s top 20 and Intouchables and Armour are both much higher.

As for the Dark Shadows – which was a poor film, without a shadow of a doubt, again if more people had bothered to see Alex Cross then I’m sure Dark Shadows would have been considered a good film compared to this one.

Best Documentary I struggle with and only really saw The Imposter. How ever I’ve been set a challenge to watch 15 this year!

As for the top 10 – 8 of my choices are in here, which I’m pleased about.

And for anyone who’s interested here’s my review of 2012

Here’s hoping 2013 can top this year!
